Perfil aromático: La gardenia es una clásica "flor muda". No se produce comercialmente un verdadero absoluto porque el aroma se destruye durante la extracción. El aroma de la flor viva es un floral blanco embriagador, cremoso e intensamente dulce. Tiene un matiz verde distintivo, casi parecido al de los hongos (debido a una molécula llamada "gardenol") y un final lactónico y cremoso.
