Profil aromatique :
Originaire de Somalie, B. frereana est chimiquement très différente des autres espèces d’encens et est techniquement une résine, et non une oléo-gomme-résine. Elle contient très peu des terpènes habituels (comme le pinène ou le limonène). Son parfum n’est donc ni citronné ni résineux‑pin. Au contraire, il s’agit d’un arôme profond, riche, chaud, ambré‑balsamique, avec des nuances musquées et boisées. C’est la variété d’encens la plus résineuse et la plus marquée en notes de fond.
